Business Process Management (BPM) is the practice of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of any organization by automating the organization's business processes.

Business Process Modeling software is a tool or utility that supports the activity of representing both the current ("as is") and future ("to be") processes of an enterprise, so that the current process may be analyzed and improved.

Business Process Management Suite (BPMS) software are frameworks that enable the design, analysis, automation, management and optimization of business processes. It does this by separating the process logic from the applications that run them; managing relationships among process participants; integrating internal and external process resources; and monitoring process performance.
